About Me

You're probably wondering--why (or not, but I want to tell you anyway) "mnlinchrifierce"? Two things.

First, do you remember AOL IM? I can't even begin to tell you how obsessed I was in high school. It was the Facebook of the year 2000. Everyone I knew had a screen name, and the cooler the name the more interesting you were since there weren't any pictures you could post to personify your online alias. I remember trying to find the most interesting name for chatting. I wanted the screen name to have elements of my real name, Christina, but also a little bit of edge and mystery. I chose three "names" for the AOL site to scramble for me--Lina, Mena, and Christina. There it was--mnlinchri. The perfect combo of three words that would forever be my online identity.

For nearly a decade, mnlinchri has grown just as much as I have. Mnlinchri is more than just a domain name, it's the cool, witty girl that not everyone gets a chance to see.

Second, I hate to admit this, but I thought it was semi-clever and current with today's pop culture--the word "fierce." Get it, "Sasha Fierce"? As in Beyonce's alter-ego? About a year ago, I found out Beyonce came up with some sexified, confident and fierce alter-ego, Sasha Fierce. She claimed to transform into this ego on stage during her performences.  I'm not a Beyonce fan, but I thought her claim was sort of interesting. Don't we all have some alter-ego to an extent? Even more so online? We're ourselves on the internet, but is it safe to say we generally make ourselves sound a tad bit cooler and confident from the safety of our personal computers? I'm guilty to an extent.

So there you have it. "mnlinchrifierce" is way cooler than "christina's blog." This blog is an expression of who I am as a creative, curious person. Read it, and you'll find out all the crazy shit I have running through my head everyday. xo.
